It appears that FIFA 23 will finally offer cross-platform play at launch, after many years of waiting. Although EA has been reluctant to include this frequently desired feature in their sports games, this year could be the year when everything changes. In May, EA conducted a crossplay feature test for FIFA 22 that allowed owners of current-generation consoles to compete against a different group of players.
Word that this year's FIFA instalment will support crossplay comes from Battlefield leaker Tom Henderson (via XFire). Men's and Women's World Cups will also be included, it was reported.
EA is yet to confirm these details itself, but we have contacted the company for comment.
However, not everybody should get hyped about the current leaks. Well, it seems like cross-play for Pro Clubs in FIFA 23 will only be available for next-gen consoles and PC. Fans still using a PlayStation 4 or an Xbox One will probably have to do without cross-play and most likely have to deal with an even smaller player base.
FIFA 23 crossplay unites “the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms together for all of the title’s game types,” according to well-known leaker Tom Henderson. This suggests that FIFA 23’s PC edition will be updated to the most recent version.
